Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Radiographer in Breast to join the North Lancashire and South Cumbria Breast Screening Service. The role leads breast imaging within a high-performing team across multiple imaging units and community units.

You will work as an independent practitioner with senior responsibilities, contributing to policy interpretation, MDT collaboration, and delivering a high quality breast service aligned with NHSBSP standards.

Qualifications

• BSc Radiography and HCPC registration are required.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Mammography and Advanced Practice are expected.
• Masters level or actively pursuing a higher degree is preferred.
• Teaching qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical decision making in breast imaging as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide high quality breast imaging service and monitor performance per NHSBSP standards.
• Offer expert guidance on differential diagnosis and follow-up within the breast service.
