Job summary

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a consultant to lead the breast imaging service across two hospital sites. The role centers on autonomous mammography, ultrasound and image-guided procedures, with emphasis on education and research.

HCPC registration and a MSc/postgraduate qualification in breast imaging or advanced mammography are required, with a track record in supervision and governance across complex cases.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and MSc/postgraduate award in breast imaging or advanced mammography.
• Postgraduate certificate in breast ultrasound and certificate in mammography film reading.
• Evidence of advanced training in breast imaging modalities.
• Experience reporting breast imaging and leading audits.

Responsibilities

• Deliver autonomous advanced breast imaging practice across mammography, ultrasound, image-guided procedures and reporting.
• Perform image-guided biopsies, pre-surgical localisation and cyst aspiration without supervision.
• Interpret mammograms and provide expert opinion on complex cases.
• Lead service innovation, research and transformation in line with national standards.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings to support diagnostic decisions and management.
• Provide clinical leadership, education and governance across the service.
• Travel between sites and support postgraduate education and mentoring.
