Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Breast Pathway Coordinator to provide organised, patient-focused administrative support across the patient pathway, coordinating waiting lists and arranging appointments.

You will work closely with consultants, clinical teams and administrative colleagues, handling patient inquiries with professionalism and ensuring timely progression through RTT principles.

Qualifications

• Experience in NHS administrative or patient care environment preferred.
• Understanding of patient pathways and RTT principles.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor Breast patient pathways and waiting lists.
• Book appointments and communicate appointment details to patients.
• Act as a point of contact for patients and clinical teams.
• Maintain accurate patient information on Trust systems.
• Review and validate waiting lists in line with targets and procedures.
• Prepare patient notes, results and information for appointments or admissions.
• Manage cancellations, queries and pathway issues, escalating where needed.
• Provide patients with non-clinical information about appointments and booking processes.
• Collaborate with consultants, outpatient teams, wards and support services to ensure smooth progression of the pathway.
• Highlight urgent results or correspondence to the appropriate clinical team.
• Work in compliance with Trust policies and RTT principles.
• Support the Breast pathway service day-to-day operations.
