Job summary

The Goodwood Estate is seeking a motivated Breakfast Commis Chef to join our kitchen team in a 2 AA Rosette restaurant located in a 91-bedroom hotel. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced chefs and develop your skills in a high-quality environment, starting your culinary journey with a supportive team.

You will support senior chefs with mise en place, follow recipes, and contribute to a fast-paced, professional kitchen culture while maintaining high standards of cleanliness

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen is helpful, but not essential.
• A genuine passion for food and a willingness to learn.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene (Food Safety Level 2 desirable)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast dishes to a consistently high standard.
• Follow recipes, portioning and presentation guidelines.
• Support senior chefs with daily mise en place and service.
• Maintain a clean and well-organised kitchen, following all food safety standards.
• Assist with stock rotation, storage, and basic monitoring.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Work efficiently during busy morning service while keeping a keen eye for detail.
• Contribute to a positive, supportive and professional kitchen culture.
