Job summary

The Goodwood Group is seeking a Breakfast Commis Chef for a fixed-term role in our 2 AA Rosette restaurant located in a 91-bedroom hotel. Join a kitchen team dedicated to breakfast excellence and learn from experienced chefs in a high-quality environment.

You will prep breakfast dishes, follow recipes, maintain cleanliness and food safety, and support senior chefs during service. This is an excellent opportunity to start your culinary career in a respected, creative kitchen.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen is helpful, but not essential.
• A genuine passion for food and a willingness to learn.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene (Food Safety Level 2 desirable).
• Ability to work early mornings, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and good time management.
• A collaborative approach and a desire to be part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast dishes to a high standard.
• Follow recipes, portioning and presentation guidelines.
• Support senior chefs with daily mise en place and service.
• Maintain a clean and well-organised kitchen, following all food safety standards.
• Assist with stock rotation, storage, and basic monitoring.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Work efficiently during busy morning service with attention to detail.
• Contribute to a positive, supportive and professional kitchen culture.
