Job summary

West Sussex in Chichester is seeking a Breakfast Commis Chef to join our kitchen team in a 2 AA Rosette restaurant within a 91-bedroom hotel. This fixed-term, full-time role includes early mornings and some evenings and weekends.

You'll prepare breakfast dishes to a high standard, follow recipes, support senior chefs with mise en place, maintain a clean kitchen, and help with stock rotation during busy morning service while learning and growing.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen is helpful but not essential.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene is desirable.
• Ability to work early mornings, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast dishes to a consistently high standard.
• Follow recipes, portioning and presentation guidelines.
• Support senior chefs with daily mise en place and service.
• Maintain a clean and well-organised kitchen, following all food safety standards.
• Assist with stock rotation, storage and basic monitoring.
