Job summary

Knekt Hub Ltd in Tavistock, Devon, is seeking an experienced Breakfast Chef to head the hotel’s early-morning breakfast service. The role focuses on delivering a high-standard breakfast offering, combining a buffet with hot dishes cooked to order, within a 2 AA Rosette hotel.

You will manage mise en place, stock, hygiene, and work closely with the wider kitchen team to sustain quality and consistency for guests from 7:30am.

Breakfast Chef

2 AA Rosette Hotel | Tavistock, Devon

Circa £32,000| Breakfast-Focused Role | Fresh Local Produce

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Breakfast Chef to join the kitchen team of an established hotel in the heart of Tavistock, on the edge of Dartmoor.

The hotel has 31 bedrooms and a 2 AA Rosette food operation, with a strong emphasis on quality local and seasonal Devon produce.

The Role

The successful chef will take responsibility for the smooth preparation and delivery of the hotel's breakfast service.

The breakfast offering combines a buffet selection with freshly cooked dishes including a Full Devon Breakfast, Eggs Benedict and lighter options, with hot dishes cooked to order. Current breakfast service runs 7:30am–9:30am Monday–Friday and 7:30am–10am at weekends.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and delivering breakfast service to a consistently high standard
• Managing breakfast mise en place and organisation
• Cooking hot breakfast dishes to order
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards
• Managing stock and preparation for upcoming services
• Working closely with the wider kitchen team
• Supporting baking and other kitchen preparation following breakfast service, as confirmed by the Executive Chef

The Ideal Candidate

This would suit an experienced Breakfast Chef, Chef de Partie or strong hotel chef who is comfortable taking ownership of an early-morning service.

You'll be organised, reliable and confident working independently, with strong fresh-food skills and an understanding of the consistency required within a quality hotel operation.
