Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair laptop, desktop and AiO hardware faults.

• Maintain accurate service records and administrative updates.

Break Fix Engineer – Contract

£170 per day | Inside IR35 | North andamp; North West London

• £170 per day – Inside IR35
• Initial 3-month contract, moving onto a 1-month rolling basis with potential extensions

ABOUT THE CLIENT

We’re supporting an established global IT services organisation looking for an experienced Break Fix Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong hands‑on hardware repair experience who enjoys working independently and providing excellent customer service.

THE BREAK FIX ENGINEER ROLE

As a Break Fix Engineer, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing desktop and laptop devices, including All-in-One (AiO) computers.

You’ll be travelling to customer sites across North and North West London, providing hands‑on technical support and ensuring hardware issues are resolved efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing and repairing laptop, desktop and AiO hardware faults
• Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting IT equipment
• Providing excellent customer service and resolving technical issues
• Managing daily communications via phone, voicemail and email
• Maintaining accurate service records and administrative updates
• Following parts management processes and service procedures
• Escalating technical issues where necessary to ensure effective resolution
• Maintaining tools and diagnostic equipment

BREAK FIX ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Minimum 3 years’ experience diagnosing and repairing laptops and desktops
• Strong hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics and component replacement experience
• Experience providing customer-facing technical support
• Confident working independently and managing your own workload
• Full, valid driving licence with a good driving record
• Willingness to travel extensively across North and North West London, potentially exceeding 50% of the working day
• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 25kg
• Strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills
