Job summary

Plumb Centre in Ludlow is seeking a Branch Supervisor to support daily operations, supervise staff, and assist customers at the trade counter. The role includes branch administration, driving local deliveries, and working to grow the customer base.

A full driving licence and prior supervisory or merchant experience are essential. The position offers a 40-hour week, competitive salary (£28,500) with bonus potential and benefits, and opportunities to develop skills within the Wolseley Group

Qualifications

• Full Driving Licence is essential.
• Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable.
• Prior experience as a Supervisor within a face-to-face sales environment is essential.
• Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Manager's absence.
• Comfortable making outbound sales calls to gain new business.
• Team player with a positive, proactive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager with day-to-day operations and take charge when absent.
• Supervise and support colleagues with guidance, training, and feedback.
• Serve customers at the trade counter with product knowledge and advice.
• Develop the customer base, improve retention and satisfaction, and manage range.
• Identify ways to improve profits and build rapport with suppliers.
• Carry out warehouse duties including goods in/out, picking and packing orders.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Drive a 3.5T van delivering to customers in the local area.
