As a Branch Supervisor based in St. Austell, you’ll be responsible for:
- Assisting the Branch Manager with the day to day running and operations within the branch and take charge when they are not available
- Supervise and support colleagues, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to achieve targets and goals
- Serving customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge
- Develop the customer base, improve retention, satisfaction, product mix and range
- Identify and recommend ways to improve profits
- Building rapport with suppliers
- General warehouse duties including, goods in & out, picking and packing customer orders (this will involve manual handling heavy stock i.e., toilets, sinks, boilers and radiators)
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Driving 3.5T van making deliveries to customers in the local area
- Provide cover occasionally at Truro, Redruth and Bodmin
This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm and Saturday on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.
And here’s what we’d like you to have to be a successful Branch Supervisor.
- A Full Driving Licence is essential
- Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable
- Prior experience as a Supervisor within a Face to Face sales environment is essential
- Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence
- Someone who is comfortable making outbound sales calls to customers to gain new business
- To be a team player who is happy to take on a diverse role to carry out all jobs in the branch to ensure it runs smoothly
- Keenness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic
