Job summary

Plumb Centre in Cambridge is seeking a Branch Supervisor to help run the small Cambridge branch, supervise staff, assist customers on the trade counter and process sales.

This full-time role offers 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri 08:00–17:00 with Saturday rota 08:00–12:00) plus competitive benefits, pension and bonus potential. Prior merchant experience and excellent communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable.
• Prior experience in a face-to-face customer service/sales environment.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with customers.
• Be a team player and willing to take on diverse tasks to keep the branch running smoothly.
• Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager with daily operations of this small branch.
• Supervise and support branch staff, provide guidance and feedback.
• Serve customers at the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge.
• Build rapport with customers and suppliers, handle queries and process sales.
• Carry out general warehouse duties including goods in & out, picking and packing orders.

As a Branch Supervisor based in Cambridge you’ll be responsible for:

• Assisting the Branch Manager with the day to day running and operations within this small branch.
• Supervise and support branch staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Serving customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge.
• Building rapport with customers & suppliers, responding to any queries and processing sales.
• General warehouse duties including, goods in & out, picking and packing customer orders.

This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm and Saturday on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.

• Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with customers
• To be a team player who is happy to take on a diverse role to carry out all jobs in the branch to ensure it runs smoothly
