Job summary

Wolseley UK Limited, through Plumb Centre, seeks a Branch Supervisor to manage Newark on Trent branch operations and customer service. You will oversee staff, assist customers at the trade counter, and coordinate stock and deliveries to ensure smooth service.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with Saturdays on a rota basis, offering benefits and training as part of the Wolseley Group. Prior branch or merchant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous industry or merchant experience preferable.
• Face-to-face customer service/sales experience beneficial.
• Excellent communication and confident customer interaction.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager with day-to-day operations of the small branch.
• Supervise and support branch staff, provide guidance and training.
• Serve customers at the trade counter with product knowledge and advice.
• Build rapport with customers and suppliers, handle queries and sales.
• General warehouse duties including goods in/out, picking and packing orders.
• Occasional relief delivery driving in a 3.5 tonne van.

• Serving customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge.
• Building rapport with customers & suppliers, responding to any queries and processing sales.
• General warehouse duties including, goods in & out, picking and packing customer orders.
• Occasional relief delivery driving, 3.5 tonne van.

Requirements

• Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable
• Prior experience in a Face to Face customer service/sales environment
• Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with customers
• To be a team player who is happy to take on a diverse role to carry out all jobs in the branch to ensure it runs smoothly
• Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Managers absence
• Keenness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence

This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm and Saturday on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm.
