Job summary

LBS Builders Merchants - Port Talbot is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to take full responsibility for the efficient, profitable, and customer-focused running of our Port Talbot branch. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will lead by example, driving performance and ensuring compliance.

You will manage purchasing, stock, merchandising, and the team, delivering against financial targets while maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience in builders’ merchant, retail, or trade.
• Strong leadership skills to inspire and develop a team.
• Excellent commercial awareness and financial acumen.
• Customer-first mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Organised, proactive, and able to deliver results under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day branch operations across all processes.
• Lead, motivate, and develop the team to hit sales and service targets.
• Build relationships with customers and suppliers and resolve issues.
• Drive sales growth by identifying opportunities and customer needs.
• Manage purchasing, stock control and merchandising for efficiency.
• Deliver against financial targets and profitability.
• Maintain health & safety, compliance, and company policy.
• Support staff through recruitment, induction, and reviews.
