Job summary

Dignity is seeking a Funeral Service Specialist for C Powell Funeral Directors, Ware, to lead day-to-day branch operations, support grieving families with empathy, and guide ceremonies when needed. You’ll build trusted local relationships and receive training for Funeral Plans and ceremonial duties.

The role emphasizes compassion, strong organisation, and the ability to manage diverse tasks while ensuring legal requirements and family wishes are met.

Qualifications

• Empathy and compassion for grieving families.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and internal systems (training provided).
• Confident working independently with branch-level responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Support families with empathy and professionalism.
• Arrange funerals meeting family wishes with clarity and respect.
• Oversee day-to-day branch operations and administration.
• Build relationships with suppliers, care homes, ministers, and florists.
• Lead chapel visits and assist with ceremonial duties when needed.
• Promote funeral plans within the branch and assist with sales.
• Train in Funeral Conducting for peak times.
