Job summary

C Powell Funeral Directors, Ware is seeking a Funeral Service Specialist to lead the branch daily, support families with compassionate care, and guide them through funeral plans. You’ll oversee administration and local relationships, with training to conduct ceremonies when needed.

The role offers full-time hours (38.33 per week) and a salary of £26,708.34 per year plus funeral plan commission, within Life Services Group and Dignity Funeral Directors.

Qualifications

• Empathy and calmness handling emotionally sensitive situations.
• Experience in customer service or admin is beneficial (training provided).
• Strong communication and organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Comfortable with legal paperwork and driving when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support families with empathy and professionalism in funeral arrangements.
• Arrange funerals meeting family wishes, cultural practices and legal requirements.
• Oversee day-to-day branch operations and administration.
• Build relationships with suppliers, care homes, ministers and florists.
• Lead chapel visits and assist with ceremonial duties when required.
• Raise awareness of funeral plans and contribute to plan sales.
