Job summary

FSW Ltd is a leading refrigeration and air conditioning wholesaler with 60 years of growth and 27 branches across the UK and Ireland. We are seeking a customer‑focused trade counter assistant for our Dartford team.

You will handle counter sales, process orders, manage stock, arrange delivery, and build relationships with customers and suppliers. A full UK driving licence is essential; forklift licence helpful with training provided.

Qualifications

• Good maths and English skills
• Proven experience in a similar environment
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Forklift Truck Licence advantageous with training provided

Responsibilities

• Serving customers at the trade counter and processing orders accurately
• Building relationships with customers and suppliers through phone, email, and face-to-face contact
• Picking, packing, and preparing orders for collection or delivery
• Maintaining stock levels and participating in stocktake activities
• Preparing competitive quotations and following up to secure orders
• Handling warranty returns and customer complaints effectively
• Undertaking delivery duties as required
• Maintaining a clean, safe working environment

What You'll Be Doing

You'll become our customers' trusted advisor, developing expert knowledge of our product portfolio. Your role combines customer service, sales, warehouse operations, and delivery duties.

Key responsibilities include:

• Serving customers at the trade counter and processing orders accurately
• Building relationships with customers and suppliers through phone, email, and face-to-face contact
• Picking, packing, and preparing orders for collection or delivery
• Maintaining stock levels and participating in stocktake activities
• Preparing competitive quotations and following up to secure orders
• Handling warranty returns and customer complaints effectively
• Undertaking delivery duties as required
• Maintaining a clean, safe working environment

The successful candidate will be required to participate in the Company Out of Hours Standby Service on a rostered basis, which includes cover over Bank and Statutory Days Holiday.

What You'll Need

You'll have good maths and English skills with proven experience in a similar environment. A professional, customer-first approach is essential, along with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.

You must hold a full UK driving licence as driving duties are part of the role. A Forklift Truck Licence would be advantageous, but training can be provided.
