About the role

This role offers the opportunity to join a well-established and forward-thinking building controls specialist, working at the cutting edge of smart infrastructure and energy optimisation. The position sits within a high-performing division focused exclusively on delivering complex Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) projects within data centre environments, some of the most demanding and technically advanced facilities in the built environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out the full commissioning of BEMS control systems, ensuring performance and functionality aligns with project specifications.
  • Conduct software loading, point-to-point checks, and system validation testing across BMS networks and field devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system faults, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Interpret and work from detailed technical documentation including panel schematics, control strategies, and network layouts.
  • Collaborate with project managers, software developers, design engineers and third-party contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Produce red-line mark-ups and commissioning documentation for handover and project close-out.
  • Provide support during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) as required.
  • Engage with clients and consultants to clarify technical requirements and provide on-site technical support.
  • Plan, manage and deliver small to mid-sized project engineering activities, including the coordination of subcontractors.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, on time, and in line with industry standards and best practice.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Proven experience commissioning BEMS/BMS systems in a commercial or industrial environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Schneider EcoStruxure and/or Trend systems. Familiarity with Tridium or ALC is beneficial.
  • Previous experience within data centres, critical infrastructure or complex M&E environments preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of HVAC systems, plant control, and BMS integration.
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from panel wiring diagrams and control schematics.
  • Comfortable with BMS software engineering, strategy implementation and controller configuration.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across hardware and software.
  • Good communication skills, capable of liaising with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • PC literate, with confidence using commissioning tools and standard MS Office applications.
  • Holds a CSCS skill card or equivalent.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

  • Free private medical insurance to give you and your family added peace of mind.
  • Life assurance valued at four times your annual salary.
