Job summary

University of Roehampton is seeking a General Bioscience Technician to join the School of Life and Health Sciences. You will support the preparation of teaching spaces, equipment and materials used across bioscience disciplines, contributing to high-quality practical teaching.

The role requires degree-level qualification in a scientific discipline or RSci/RSciTech registration, plus prior laboratory technical experience and strong safety practices. UK right to work and London weighting apply.

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant scientific discipline or professional registration such as RSci/RSciTech.
• Experience providing technical support in a laboratory environment is essential.
• Strong understanding of laboratory health and safety practices, including risk assessment and COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up equipment, materials and practical teaching activities across bioscience disciplines.
• Support stock control and procurement for laboratory facilities.
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, safety cabinets, pipettes, and ancillary systems.
• Collaborate with School staff to deliver high-quality teaching and learning activities.
