Job summary

Swansea University is seeking an experienced technical professional to support high-quality laboratory teaching within a Life Sciences setting. This role ensures teaching laboratories operate safely, efficiently, and to a high professional standard.

You will work with a collaborative team to prepare materials, equipment, and resources for practical sessions, supporting staff and students across disciplines such as Genetics, Biochemistry, and Pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting laboratory teaching in Life Sciences.
• Familiarity with PCR, ELISA, Microbiology, Aseptic techniques and related lab procedures.
• Able to assist staff and students and manage equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and facilities.
• Operate and support specialist instrumentation.
• Diagnose equipment faults and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain laboratory systems to support teaching.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Organise laboratory resources, procurement and stock management.
