UHDB in Derby invites applications for a Band 5 Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology. The role is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours) with weekend working and on-call duties, HCPC registration essential, and membership is expected.

The successful candidate will work within a modern Derbyshire Pathology service, contributing to ISO 15189 compliant processes, while supporting colleagues and providing high-quality patient care.

Qualificações

• HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist is required.
• Post-registration microbiology laboratory experience is preferred.
• Specialist knowledge in bacteriology, parasitology and mycology is desirable.
• Willingness to work weekends and participate in on-call rota.
• Familiarity with ISO 15189 and health and safety standards.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out day-to-day sample processing and analytical microbiology investigations.
• Supervise MLAs within the work area.
• Engage in training and participate in on-call and weekend duties.
• Contribute to quality systems and audits.
