Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist – Microbiology to join our client’s laboratory in Hull. The role involves performing a range of microbiological investigations, processing clinical specimens, and delivering accurate results to support patient care.

You will work with the team to maintain lab standards, interpret and report results, and may provide weekend cover as needed. HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists with NHS experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist.
• Experience in a microbiology laboratory.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• NHS experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing on clinical specimens following lab protocols.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safety standards.
• Interpret, report results, and maintain comprehensive documentation.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to support diagnosis and treatment; may cover weekends.
