The shift pattern for this role is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with additional out-of-hours commitments.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated candidates for the full-time position of Specialist Biomedical/Clinical Scientist within the Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (H&I) Laboratory.
The H&I Laboratory, located at Gartnavel General Hospital in Glasgow within the Diagnostics Directorate of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, provides services supporting:
The successful candidate will perform molecular biology techniques for HLA typing, immunological methods for HLA antibody testing and crossmatching, and analyze and report test results. Participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota for solid organ transplantation is mandatory. Training and professional development are encouraged.
Essential qualifications include an Honours degree in a biological subject and current registration (or pending registration) as a Biomedical Scientist or Clinical Scientist with the Health & Care Professions Council.
