  • Band 5 – £31,892 - £39,735
  • Band 6 – £33,072 - £48,635

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists. Newly graduated candidates, if successful, will be required to complete their Specialist Portfolio prior to progression to Band 6. We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate team spirit, initiative, flexibility, and enthusiasm to train further.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a new facility with state-of-the-art equipment, including Roche cobas 8000 analysers, 8100 pre-analytics, and track systems. The special investigations laboratory features Thermo GCMS and recently added Sebia electrophoresis systems.

The post involves rotation through various sections within the department. The post holder will be required, following suitable training, to cover the 24/7 laboratory service. Working hours are an average of 37 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts when suitably trained.

The department is UKAS accredited and IBMS approved for Biomedical Scientist training. Active participation in CPD and opportunities for further study are supported and encouraged.

Candidates starting at Band 5 will need to successfully complete the relevant qualifications or training as outlined within the Annex 21 competency framework before progressing to Band 6. Candidates meeting all the requirements of the person specification for Band 6 will commence at Band 6 with no need for progression through the competency framework.
