Salary:
Band 5: £31,892 - £39,735

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientists. Newly graduated candidates will need to complete their Specialist Portfolio before progressing to Band 6. We seek individuals demonstrating team spirit, initiative, flexibility, and enthusiasm for further training.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a new facility with advanced equipment, including Roche cobas 8000 analysers, Thermo GCMS, and Sebia electrophoresis systems. The position involves rotation through various departmental sections, with coverage of the 24/7 laboratory service following appropriate training. Working hours are an average of 37 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts when trained.

The department is UKAS accredited and IBMS approved for Biomedical Scientist training. Active participation in CPD and further study opportunities are supported and encouraged.

Candidates starting at Band 5 must complete the necessary qualifications or training outlined in the Annex 21 competency framework before moving to Band 6. Those meeting all criteria for Band 6 will commence at that level without additional competency requirements.
