Job summary

Ai Bio is seeking a skilled data engineer/biostatistician in London to own the analysis of assay data and the ML infrastructure that drives results. You will work closely with protein scientists and software engineers to build and validate end-to-end pipelines from instrument output to deliverable data products.

Qualifications

• Building and running production data and ML pipelines with validated, versioned workflows.
• Handling biological data: plate layouts, sample and reagent lot lineage, and sequences.
• Biostatistics for experimental data, including design, replicates, and controls.
• Statistical process control and anomaly detection to catch assay drift early.
• Data visualization showing uncertainty and QC for non-technical readers.
• Fluent Python (pandas, NumPy, SciPy) and experience with coding agents.
• SQL and relational schema design for samples, plates and results.
• Translate scientists’ questions into actionable requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own analysis of assay data and the ML infrastructure from capture to results.
• Develop and maintain analysis pipelines in collaboration with science and software teams.
• Validate data quality before analysis runs and catch mislabels or swapped samples.
• Perform sequence-level bioinformatics to check constructs before DNA ordering.
• Apply biostatistics, experimental design, replicates, and controls with proper uncertainty.
• Deliver results with clear visualizations and robust QC across batches.
