Relation is seeking a Research Data Engineer in London to design and build scalable data systems powering predictive models of cellular behavior. You will craft storage layouts, data formats, and data movement patterns to support ML training and experimentation.

You will collaborate with ML scientists and research engineers, implement data versioning and governance, and ensure secure, auditable pipelines across multi-modal datasets in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS, engineering, or quantitative field.
• Strong Python and cloud data infra experience.
• Experience with data pipelines and ML data workflows.
• Familiarity with Spark/Polars/Dask.

Responsabilités

• Design, build scalable data pipelines ingesting multi-modal data.
• Improve data lake/lakehouse storage and access patterns.
• Implement data versioning, lineage, and quality monitoring.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers.
• Oversee workflow orchestration and batch jobs.
• Ensure security, governance, and audit readiness.
• Contribute to ML platform architecture decisions.
• Promote engineering best practices.
