Job summary

As a Machine Learning Research Engineer, you will bridge theory and production, designing and supporting systems used by biologists and data scientists.

You will work in an interdisciplinary team, access cutting-edge datasets and infrastructure, and contribute to training large models, profiling GPU workloads, and deploying robust ML pipelines in

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/Engineering/Physics or related quantitative discipline.
• Industry experience as ML/research engineer on large neural networks.
• Strong Python and PyTorch fundamentals.
• Experience with distributed training frameworks.
• Experience profiling and optimizing GPU workloads.
• Familiarity with cloud-based ML infra and containerized environments.
• Proven track record turning research code into robust infra.
• Bonus: CUDA/Triton kernel development; foundation models; open-source contributions.

Responsibilities

• Implement and optimise large models, translating research ideas into scalable training pipelines.
• Profile and optimise training across compute, memory, and I/O.
• Design and implement distributed training strategies across multi-GPU and multi-node.
• Build and maintain core ML infrastructure.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and bridge research with production.
• Optimise inference and deployment for use by data scientists and biologists.
• Address numerical, performance, and reliability issues.
• Maintain disciplined research code practices.
• Track developments in ML systems and bring advances into the stack.
