Job summary

Care UK is seeking a Billing Team Leader to lead a dynamic billing function across our UK care homes. You will oversee invoices, credit notes and unbilled income within a robust control environment, while supporting a team to deliver accurate, timely results.

We value proactive problem solving, training of staff, and effective collaboration with Credit Control, operations teams and regional directors to drive continuous improvement and compliance.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience of billing and sales ledger.
• Ability to challenge current practices and processes.
• Proven track record in training new and existing employees.
• Experience of an accounting system.

Responsibilities

• Create an inspiring team environment with open communication.
• Supervise yearly objectives, appraisals, holidays and performance.
• Monitor unbilled income and support legal processes.
• Maintain billing data and documentation for audits/SOX requirements.
• Responsible for validating and approving invoices and credit notes.
• Liaison with Credit Control, Care Homes and Regional Directors.
• Support the processing of all Annual Uplifts and escalate discrepancies.
• Travel to support projects, acquisitions and training.

The role:

The Billing Team Leader will be responsible for assisting in the provision of an efficient and accurate Billing function in a robust control environment whilst providing support to colleagues in the team to ensure that operational processes and procedures are being followed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
• Supervision and supporting yearly objective setting/appraisals, holiday and performance
• Monitor and track all unbilled income and support where necessary the legal process
• Maintain billing data and supporting documentation to facilitate all audit/SOX requirements
• Responsible for validating and approving invoices and credit notes

• Supporting the processing of all Annual Uplifts and escalating any discrepancies
• Flexibility to travel and support with projects, acquisitions and training
