Job summary

Ceredigion County Council is advertising two Level 2 Teaching Assistants to support pupils at Ysgol Gynradd Gymunedol Tal-y-bont in Aberystwyth. The roles are fixed-term until 19 March 2027 and 31 August 2027, with duties including supporting learners with additional needs and contributing to inclusive learning.

Applicants should be fluent in Welsh and English, hold NVQ/Level 3 equivalents, and be able to use ICT to support learning. DBS checks apply and training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent and good literacy/numeracy.
• Experience working with or caring for children.
• Fluent in Welsh and English.
• Able to use ICT to support learning.
• Positive, flexible, and able to build relationships.
• Understand safeguarding, inclusion, teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to pupils, including those with additional needs, helping them access learning and build confidence.
• Work with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and activities.
• Support the development of Individual Education and Behaviour Plans.
• Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour.
• Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and wider school activities.
