Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children's learning and development? Ysgol Gynradd Gymunedol Tal-y-bont is seeking two dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistants to join the team as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom and beyond. These are fixed-term appointments until 19 March 2027 and 31 August 2027, in the first instance. As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide support to pupils, including those with additional needs, helping them access learning and build confidence.
  • Work with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and activities.
  • Support the development of Individual Education and Behaviour Plans.
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour.
  • Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and wider school activities. Is fluent in both Welsh and English.
  • Has experience of working with or caring for children.
  • Holds relevant qualifications (NVQ 3 or equivalent) and good literacy/numeracy skills.
  • Can use ICT effectively to support learning.
  • Is positive, flexible, and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding, inclusion, and teamwork.
