Job summary

Enable Leisure and Culture is seeking a Bereavement Officer for the Putney Vale team. You will ensure smooth administration for cremations, burials and memorials, delivering compassionate front-line service to mourners, funeral directors and the public.

Based at Putney Vale Cemetery & Crematorium, the role requires 5 days across 7 and occasional weekend work. The team supports two crematoria and multiple cemeteries, with travel to satellite locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven administrative support experience in a front-facing office environment.
• Experience with IT systems including Office 365, Teams and Outlook.
• Excellent English written and spoken communication.
• Ability to handle confidential information in line with GDPR.
• Full UK driving license.
• Ability to travel between satellite locations as required.
• Resilience and ability to work under pressure.
• Attention to detail and methodical approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Process cremation, burial and memorial paperwork accurately.
• Support Finance with Excel and Sage Intacct tasks.
• Input financial data and assist invoicing.
• Provide frontline customer service with sensitivity to mourners and directors.
• Assist with chapel attending and interments.
• Support events and community activities.
• Travel to satellite locations as required.
