Job summary

The Teach Team Ltd is recruiting a dedicated Behavioural Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming all-boys secondary school. You will support students with behavioural, emotional, and SEMH needs to help them succeed inside and outside the classroom.

You will work alongside experienced teachers and pastoral staff to create a positive learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, care, or similar settings.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach to behaviour support.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Build positive relationships that encourage engagement, confidence, and resilience.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policies.

  • Assist teachers in maintaining a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching and pastoral teams.
  • Promote positive behaviour and act as a consistent role model throughout the school day.

Job description

Do you have experience with children with behavioural needs? The Teach Team is recruiting a dedicated and resilient Behavioural Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming and supportive all-boys secondary school. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting students who require additional behavioural, emotional, and pastoral support to help them succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Working alongside experienced teachers and pastoral staff, you will help create a positive learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Build positive, professional relationships that encourage engagement, confidence, and resilience.

Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policies.

Support students in developing self-regulation, social skills, and positive coping strategies.

Assist teachers in maintaining a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching and pastoral teams.

Promote positive behaviour and act as a consistent role model throughout the school day.

What We're Looking For

Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, care, or similar settings is desirable.

A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour support.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to build trust and motivate students who may face barriers to learning.

A genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
