Job summary

RIBBONS AND REEVES are recruiting a committed Behaviour Support Officer for an outstanding 11–18 secondary school in Redbridge. The role is permanent from September 2026 with salary on the Outer London Unqualified Teacher Pay Scale.

You will support students’ behaviour, achievement and self-esteem by delivering targeted pastoral interventions. Ideal candidates will have a 2:1 or first-class degree from a UK university and prior experience in a secondary setting.

As a Behaviour Support Officer, you will play a key role in improving students' behaviour, achievement and self-esteem by delivering targeted pastoral and behaviour interventions. Working alongside teachers, pastoral leaders and families, you will help students overcome barriers to learning, promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

You will draw upon your understanding of child development and the impact of home and school factors on students' motivation, attitudes and performance. You may also provide emergency classroom cover for teaching staff when required, ensuring learning continues with minimal disruption.
