Job summary

Engage Partners Limited in Bromley is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to support students with SEMH and other needs in a specialist secondary education setting. You will provide one-to-one mentoring, promote positive behaviour, and work with staff to implement support plans to help learners overcome barriers to learning.

The role requires resilience, calm and excellent communication, with DBS enhanced checks and safeguarding commitments.

Qualifications

Have experience working with young people who present challenging behaviour.
Calm, patient and able to build positive professional relationships.
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
Confident supporting students with SEMH, ADHD, autism or other needs.
Proactive, resilient and committed to safeguarding young people, including Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one mentoring and pastoral support for students with SEMH needs.
Support pupils during lessons to improve engagement, attendance and behaviour.
Help students develop emotional regulation and positive coping strategies.
Work with teaching staff to implement behaviour support plans.
Supervise intervention sessions and support reflection or restorative work.
Manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
Monitor student progress and maintain behaviour records.
Build strong relationships with families and external professionals.
