As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with secondary-aged pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, emotional regulation difficulties and barriers to learning.
You will build positive relationships with pupils, provide consistent boundaries and act as a trusted adult and positive role model.
The school is a specialist SEMH setting in Bromley Common providing education for secondary-aged pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional and pastoral support.
The school offers a structured environment with clear expectations and a strong focus on relationships, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and educational progress.
Many pupils may have experienced difficulties within mainstream education, including exclusion or persistent barriers to learning. The school aims to provide a fresh start and help pupils develop the skills and confidence needed to make positive progress.

Previous experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour, vulnerable young people, alternative provision or school exclusions would be advantageous.
However, experience within a school is not essential. We are also interested in candidates from youth work, care, sports, residential or other relevant backgrounds who have the resilience, confidence and interpersonal skills to support young people with challenging behaviour.
