Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. You will support students one-to-one and in small groups, build positive relationships, and help manage SEMH needs and behavioural challenges using positive strategies.

This full-time temp-to-perm role starts ASAP, with daily pay between 95 and 120 GBP depending on experience. Ideal candidates have experience in sports coaching, youth work, or learning support and hold an Enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.

Responsibilities

• Support students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Support students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges.
• Help manage and de-escalate difficult situations using positive behaviour strategies.
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support student development.
• Promote confidence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
