Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist school in Wakefield. You will support students 1:1 and in small groups, implementing behaviour plans and promoting a calm, positive learning environment.

This full-time, long-term role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with a daily rate of £90–£110 depending on experience. Start ASAP, with collaboration with teachers, SENCo, and external professionals to support pupils' development.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges and emotional needs.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and intervention techniques.
  • Passion for supporting children and young people in social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to support students with behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Implement and monitor behaviour management plans, ensuring consistency and clear expectations.
  • Support students in developing social skills, self-regulation techniques, and emotional resilience.
  • Assist in maintaining a calm, structured, and positive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents/carers, and external professionals.
