Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist school in Wakefield. You will support students 1:1 and in small groups, implementing behaviour plans and promoting a calm, positive learning environment.

This full-time, long-term role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with a daily rate of £90–£110 depending on experience. Start ASAP, with collaboration with teachers, SENCo, and external professionals to support pupils' development.

Qualifications

Experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges and emotional needs.
Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and intervention techniques.
Passion for supporting children and young people in social, emotional, and academic development.
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

Work 1:1 and in small groups to support students with behavioural and emotional needs.
Implement and monitor behaviour management plans, ensuring consistency and clear expectations.
Support students in developing social skills, self-regulation techniques, and emotional resilience.
Assist in maintaining a calm, structured, and positive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents/carers, and external professionals.
