Job summary

GSL Education in Grimsby is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to work across local primary and secondary schools on a supply basis. You will support pupils with challenging behaviours, helping them engage with learning, build confidence and develop positive behaviours under supervision.

We are looking for calm, patient and resilient individuals who can form trusting relationships with children, follow individual support plans and work well as part of a school team.

Qualifications

• Experience with challenging behaviours in school, care or support settings.
• Calm, patient and resilient, able to stay composed in difficult situations.
• Confident building positive relationships with children and young people.
• Compassionate with clear, consistent boundaries.
• A strong communicator and team player.
• Happy to work on a supply basis with potential for permanent role.

The Role

You will support pupils who may display challenging or complex behaviours, helping them develop positive behaviours, confidence and the skills needed to engage successfully with school life.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced working with challenging behaviours, either in a school, care or support setting.

• Calm, patient and resilient, with the ability to remain composed in challenging situations.

• Confident building positive relationships with children and young people.

• Compassionate and understanding, while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.

• A strong communicator who works well as part of a team.

• Happy to work on a supply basis, with the potential to move into a full-time/permanent role when the right opportunity becomes available.
