Job summary

A well-established secondary school in Bolton is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to support students with their classwork and promote positive behaviour throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will help maintain a productive learning environment and engage with young people displaying challenging behaviour. Experience in a school or similar setting is desirable. The position offers a temporary role with potential for permanency, and relevant qualifications and DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school, youth work or SEN/SEMH setting is desirable.
• Relevant qualifications and training for the role are required.
• Must have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a well‑established secondary school in Bolton. This role is based within the school’s internal provision, supporting students with their classwork, helping them stay on task, and promoting positive behaviour throughout the school day.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is calm, resilient and confident in building relationships with young people who may display challenging behaviour.

You will work closely with students who require additional support, ensuring they remain engaged in their learning while addressing behavioural issues in a consistent, supportive manner. Your role will involve guiding pupils through their work, encouraging positive choices, and maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
