Ribbons & Reeves is hiring a Pastoral Behaviour Support Officer for a full-time role in North West London with an immediate start. You will work in the Relocation Room supporting students removed from class and helping them re-engage with learning.

The ideal candidate will have strong behaviour management, excellent communication and the resilience to stay calm under pressure while maintaining boundaries and professional conduct throughout a busy school day.

Qualifications

  • A degree, preferably 2:1 or above.
  • Experience working with young people through education, mentoring, tutoring or similar settings is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and organise the Relocation Room.
  • Supervise students who have been removed from lessons.
  • Maintain a calm, structured and focused environment.
  • Use strong behaviour management to maintain clear expectations.
  • Support students to regulate their behaviour and stay on task.
  • Ensure classwork and learning activities are completed.
  • Support the Pastoral Leader with behaviour and pastoral interventions.
  • Hold restorative conversations with students.
  • Monitor behaviour, engagement and student progress.
  • Complete relevant administrative tasks and records.
  • Communicate with teachers, Heads of Year and senior leaders.

Pastoral Behaviour Support Officer | North West London | Immediate Start

A supportive secondary school in North West London is seeking a committed Pastoral Behaviour Support Officer for an immediate start. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to work as a Pastoral Behaviour Support Officer within education or pastoral care.

As a Pastoral Behaviour Support Officer, you will be based in the school’s Relocation Room, supporting students who have been removed from lessons due to behavioural concerns. The successful Pastoral Behaviour Support Officer will maintain a calm, organised and purposeful environment, ensuring students remain settled and focused on their work.

This Pastoral Behaviour Support Officer role is ideal for someone with strong behaviour management skills who can establish clear boundaries, remain calm under pressure and support students effectively.

Key Responsibilities

As a Pastoral Behaviour Support Officer, you will:

About You

The school is looking for a Pastoral Behaviour Support Officer who is calm, resilient, organised and confident managing challenging behaviour. You will need excellent communication skills, strong boundaries and the ability to remain professional in difficult situations.

A degree, preferably at 2:1 or above, is required, and strong A-level and GCSE results are desirable. Experience working with young people through education, mentoring, tutoring, sports or similar settings would be advantageous.

This Pastoral Behaviour Support Officer position is ideal for graduates considering teaching, psychology, counselling or social care work.

Pay: £530 PAYE per week for Weeks 1-12, rising to £580 PAYE per week from Week 13
