Job summary

The Portsmouth Academy, part of The Thinking Schools Academy Trust, is seeking a committed Behaviour and Pastoral Manager to lead our behaviour and pastoral provision, supporting high standards of conduct, wellbeing and readiness to learn.

You will manage Behaviour and Pastoral Officers and Pastoral Support Assistants, coordinate targeted support for disadvantaged students, SEND and vulnerable learners, and work with safeguarding colleagues to maintain a calm, safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of pastoral staff.
• Experience supporting students with behavioural or emotional needs.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and data handling.
• Ability to interpret behaviour/pastoral data to improve outcomes.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with families and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee behaviour systems, sanctions and restorative approaches.
• Coordinate targeted pastoral support for disadvantaged and SEND students.
• Lead, manage and develop Behaviour and Pastoral Officers and Pastoral Support Assistants.
• Embed Behaviour and Culture Policy and support staff to create a calm, safe learning environment.
