Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor / Youth Worker for a specialist primary provision in Wolverhampton. You will support children aged 4–11 who may be disengaged from learning and help them engage with education.

The role is full-time and long-term, paying up to £100 per day. The successful candidate will build calm, trusting relationships, manage behaviour, and work closely with teachers to help pupils return to mainstream settings.

Qualifications

• Experience as Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Teaching Assistant or similar in educational settings.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and support diverse needs.
• Calm, resilient and patient approach to helping learners engage and improve behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support children who may display challenging behaviour or disengagement.
• Help pupils develop strategies to manage their emotions and behaviour.
• Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and attendance.
• Provide consistent support, boundaries and positive reinforcement.
• Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
• Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence.
• Act as a positive role model and collaborate with teachers and staff.
