Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor for a secondary school in Tameside. You will provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring, helping pupils regulate emotions, build confidence, and engage with learning.

Behaviour Mentor - Tameside

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers, develop positive behaviours and reach their full potential?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Tameside.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with young people who may struggle with behaviour, emotional regulation, engagement or social challenges.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to manage their behaviour and engage positively with school life.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring and support
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Supporting students to regulate their emotions and manage challenging situations
  • Helping pupils understand and make positive changes to their behaviour
  • Encouraging engagement with learning and improving attendance
  • Supporting pupils who may be at risk of disengaging from education
  • Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence
  • De-escalating challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining clear boundaries
About You

The successful candidate will be:

Experience working in secondary schools, behaviour support, youth work, pastoral care, SEMH settings, residential care or similar environments would be highly beneficial.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation, SEMH needs or disengagement from education.

  • Hours: 8:30am - 3:45pm
  • Pay: 105 - 115 per day
