Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor to support pupils' behaviour, engagement and wellbeing in North Somerset. The role involves 1:1 and small group support, working with teachers in mainstream and SEN settings.

We offer term-time hours with a pay rate of 14.24 per hour, and higher rates may apply based on experience and qualifications. Ongoing training, safeguarding commitments, and a dedicated consultant are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Patient, positive and reliable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence supporting behaviour and learning needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Relevant qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in lessons, both 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist the teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
• Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs, including SEND.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote inclusion.
• Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and development.
• Assist with breaktime supervision and school activities.
