Job summary

Stockport Council's Tithe Barn Primary School in Stockport is seeking a compassionate Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with diverse needs and promote a calm, positive learning environment. You will work one-to-one, in small groups and alongside class teachers to help pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, understanding individual needs.
• Support pupils to recognise emotions, regulate and make independent choices.
• Use relational, restorative and trauma-informed approaches with clear boundaries.
• Provide proactive behaviour support and identify triggers with strategies.
• Apply de-escalation strategies when pupils are distressed and help them return to learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral and SEND teams, families and professionals.
• Contribute to implementation and review of individual support plans and EHCP outcomes.
• Support pupils to progress in learning, wellbeing and social inclusion.
• Promote inclusion, resilience and independence within the school community.
