Job summary

Tithe Barn Primary invites applications for a compassionate Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with personalised, trauma-informed approaches. You will work one-to-one and in small groups within the classroom to strengthen engagement and behaviour for learning.

The role requires resilience, empathy and a commitment to safeguarding, with term-time only duties, fixed-term until 31 August 2027, and a start date ASAP after appointment.Visits welcome.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and understand their needs.
• Support pupils to recognise emotions and develop regulation strategies.
• Use relational, restorative and trauma-informed approaches with clear boundaries.
• Provide proactive behaviour support and identify triggers to keep pupils regulated.
• De-escalate when needed and help pupils return to learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEND teams, families and other professionals.
• Contribute to individual support plans and EHCP outcomes.
• Support pupils’ learning, wellbeing and social development.
• Promote inclusion, resilience and independence within the school.
