Job summary

Supply Desk is partnering with a supportive school in the Uxbridge area to appoint a dedicated Behaviour Mentor. The role focuses on supporting pupils with behavioural needs and helping them engage positively with their education.

You will work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement strategies, build emotional regulation, and promote inclusive learning. A patient, empathetic approach is essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach.
  • Ability to build rapport and act as a positive role model.
  • Resilient, adaptable and proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the school policies
  • Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and social skills
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to create and implement support plans
  • De-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe learning environment
  • Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records of behaviour and interventions
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Support inclusion and ensure all pupils can access learning
