Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a dedicated SEMH Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist school in Salford. You will be supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including anxiety, ADHD, trauma, attachment difficulties, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, and behaviours that challenge.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping students develop positive behaviours, improve emotional regulation, and engage more

Qualifications

• Experience in education, mentoring, youth work, care, coaching, or support work.
• A calm, resilient, and patient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence supporting students with challenging behaviour.
• The ability to maintain professional boundaries while showing empathy and understanding.
• A genuine passion for helping young people reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring and support.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Support students during lessons, breaktimes, and structured activities.
• Implement behaviour support plans and targeted interventions.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and engagement.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and families.
• Monitor and report on pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing.

The Role
