Job summary

Castlewood School in Birmingham is seeking a committed Behaviour Support Officer to strengthen SEMH support across the school. The role focuses on mentoring pupils, developing self‑regulation strategies, and modelling positive behaviour to improve learning outcomes.

You will work under the Deputy Head and collaborate with staff to implement behaviour plans, track data, and engage families and external agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Passion for supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
• Ability to mentor individuals and small groups effectively.
• Commitment to safeguarding and positive pupil development.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Develop and implement individual behaviour support plans.
• Support staff with effective behaviour strategies and classroom practice.
• Monitor, record and analyse behaviour data and trends.
• Contribute to a whole‑school approach to behaviour.
