Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with SEMH needs in a mainstream Croydon secondary school. You will work daily with pupils inside and outside the classroom, promoting communication and independence while helping with learning and social interactions.

A valid Enhanced DBS is required; you will assist with lesson prep and activities, contributing to a safe, inclusive environment and smooth classroom routines.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential.
• Support pupils with communication, learning and independence in a safe environment.
• Assist with lesson preparation and activity planning.
• Requires valid Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a daily basis inside and outside the classroom.
• Manage behaviour and support SEMH needs.
• Encourage and support pupils’ learning and educational development.
• Support social interactions and collaboration with peers.
• Assist the teacher with lesson preparation and planning activities.
